The anticipated salary range for this role is between $78,000.00 and $125,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Overview

The Securities Operations Group is looking for Data Reference and Conversion/Exchange Associate. The individual will be responsible for setting up and maintaining reference data in internal systems and processing 114A/Reg S conversions.

Role Description

  • Set up and maintain reference data in multiple back-office systems. Including but not limited to security set up, rate, and factor updates.

  • Exception processing related to trade differences.

  • Billing and Delivery set up in custodian bank – cusips / term sheets.

  • Process 114A/RegS conversions, including submitting exhibits to various transfer agents.

  • TMPG fail processing for affiliates.

  • Work closely with Front Office, Middle Office, Settlements, and IT.

  • Provide real time assistance to Middle Office and Settlements in order to have on time settlement and reduce failed trades.

  • Daily reporting to meet audit and compliance requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in Fixed Income and Equity products.

  • Understanding trade life cycle.

  • Ability to deliver high quality results within tight timeframes.

  • Effectively utilize systems, both internal and external, to perform functions and maintain accurate records.

  • Ability to multitask.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of Bloomberg TOMs, Pershing Netx360, Broadridge Impact, and Global One.

  • Flexibility to work an early shift/late shift.

  • Flexibility to be involved in projects and learning new products and roles proactively.
