The anticipated salary range for this role is between $153,000.00 and $194,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
The Data Quality Engine Lead is an important role within the Enterprise Data Governance and Transfromation team. This person will work with the Data Quality Managers, Data Stewards, Technology teams and Business Stakeholders, Globally, to implement Data Quality Measurement. He/She will play a vitol role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of our organization's data. Examines complex data to optimize the efficiency and quality of the data being collected for this tool, resolve data quality issues/problems with the data needed for this tool, and collaborate with database developers to improve systems and database designs for this tool.
Role Objectives: Delivery
This specialized role will support all work streams of the Data Quality Engine / Tooling Global implementation and ongoing support of the tool. The successful candidate will partner with Business Stakeholders, DQ Managers and Technology team to implement their Data Quality Rules. This role will suppport the overall Data Quality Framework within the Data Governance program. The person will support all work streams of the Data Quality Engine / Tooling implementation; The work streams in scope are Implementation and configuration of DQ Engine, Testing of Upgrades, Supporting the DQ Rules Migration, the on-going DQ Rules measurement implementation, Integrations and Reporting. The successful candidate will have previously implemented and managed strategic data quality engine platform / data quality rules in a complex financial environment. You will have a passion for data, proven ownership of a robust book of work and foster a data-driven culture within the team and across a wide range of business, technical and operational stakeholders.
Role Objectives: Interpersonal
Partner with AD Tech team to implement and maintain Collibra PROD Data Quality Engine.
Support Head of Enterprise Data Governance & Transformation in defining and adopting the operating model for DQ Measurement through CDQ.
Ensure adherence to data quality measurement frameworks and standards when defining DQ Rules.
Load DQ Controls based on KDE onboarding.
Support the mapping of DQ Rules to their DQ Controls and ensure relationships are established in Collibra.
Hold requirement gathering sessions and ensure functional requirements and design are documented to all integration components or any other needs: Collibra DIP, SNOW, PowerBI and TWS Scheduler.
Support business stakeholders to setup Data source connections, configurations, DQ rules creation, etc.
Support end-to-end testing of each DQ release for all stakeholders.
Evolve and refresh DQ Measurement and Monitoring Standard, Procedures, Framework and address audits as needed.
Timely organization, maintenance, and prioritization of the Collibra DQ implementation roadmap in collaboration.
Support the roll-out of Collibra DQ to other SMBC regions from analysis to POC, to production implementations and training.
Support the preparation of BAU and ad-hoc senior management decks and presentations.
Create and maintain dashboards and/or scorecards to monitor the overall health and stability of the Data Quality Engine.
Role Responsibilities
Collaborate with multiple global business stakeholders to gather data quality requirements, use cases and identify applicable data sources.
Support the development of project plan and oversee project plan, including milestones, timelines and deliverables.
Support the DQ rule migration from existing DQ Engines from different areas to Collibra Data Quality. Work with vendor to develop a utility that can support the DQ rule migration adequately.
Participate in working sessions with Vendor and Technology teams to implement Collibra Data Quality Engine.
Support the team in developing a Global Operating Model to implement data quality rules through the new engine tactically / strategically.
Define and implement a process to map DQ Rules to their DQ Controls and ensure relationships are established in Collibra.
Conduct data profiling to understand data characteristics, identify patterns, assess data quality and support statekholders as needed.
Develop and document test cases to evaluate the functionality and capabilities of Collibra Data Quality and execute end-to-end testing.
Automate manual processess using VBA or other automation techniques. Update existing excel macros (VBA) to ensure their continued functionality and accuracy.
Review and load DQ assets in Collibra.
Ensure DQ Control & DQ Rule metadata is accurate and linkages are properly updated in Collibra.
Develop training materials, documentations and visio diagrams.
Provide data quality training and presentations to our stakeholders globally.
Gather/document requirements to implement the PowerBI Unified DQ Rules Dashboard and co-oridinate E2E testing.
Support business requirements gathering / prioritization from all regions.
Qualifications and Skills
7-10 years of experience in Financial Services
Must have prior experience with data quality measurement and monitoring, including definition of business requirements, technical data quality rules, metrics and exceptions management (preferably Collibra Data Quality). Must have an understanding of Data Governance best practices. Have prior experience with Data Profiling, Data Management, and can recognize trends, statistical anomalies in the data is helpful.
Strong relationship management and influencing skills to build enduring and productive alliances across matrix organizations. Strong team player with excellent listening, interpersonal, facilitation, written, oral and communication skills; ability to effectively communicate concepts in both technical and user-friendly language to management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood
Demonstrated ability to work independently and successfully manage multiple priorities and stakeholders under pressure. Flexibility in a global team to support multiple regions / time zones.
Proven skills in MS Office suite, MS Excel, VBA (Macros), PowerBI, MS Project and Powerpoint
Strong team player with excellent listening, interpersonal, facilitation, written, oral and communication skills; ability to effectively communicate concepts in both technical and user-friendly language to management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood
Must be able to write complex SQL queries (Subqueries, CTEs, joins, etc.) and perform analysis on data
Familiar with JIRA Issue and Project Tracking application, SDLC phases and process, and able to run Agile methodology
Ability to work with little or no supervision and proven ability to meet established deadlines with demonstrated ability successfully manage multiple priorities and stakeholders under pressure
