Role Description

As a Junior Development Story Coordinator and Reporting Specialist, you will play a vital role in facilitating smooth communication and coordination within the development teams and development partners. Your primary responsibility will be to organize, track, and report on the progress of development stories or tasks. You will work closely with the developers, Product and Project Managers, along with other stakeholders to ensure that the project timelines are met, and deliverables are completed efficiently.

Role Objectives

Story Coordination:

• Collaborate with product manager, leadership, and development team members to understand project requirements and priorities.

• Assist with maintaining a clear and organized backlog of development stories using project management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)

• Assist in assigning stories to developers and partnered development teams based on skill set and workload capacity.

• Ensure that developers have the necessary information to complete their assigned tasks.

Progress Tracking:

• Regularly update the status of development stories and tasks in the project management system

• Monitor the progress of ongoing development activities and identify potential bottlenecks or delays.

• Communicate update and status reports to the relevant stakeholders, including product manager, team leads and requestors.

• Implement tracking mechanism to measure and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to development progress and efficiency.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Generate and distribute regular progress reports summarizing the status of development activities, milestones achieved and upcoming tasks.

• Document issues, risks, and dependencies affecting development progress, and escalate them to the appropriate stakeholders as needed.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of development processes, standards, and best practices.

• Assist in preparing presentations or documentation for project reviews, sprint retrospectives, and client meetings.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree required.

Highly organized with a meticulous attention to detail.

Understanding of the pressures of working in a corporate environment and manages stress well.

Resourceful, driven attitude with a genuine desire and energy to use a “whatever it takes” approach to ensure team success.

Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities to meet time-sensitive deadlines, as well as manage multiple projects simultaneously, including confidential matters.

Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate with team members across all levels effectively.

Strong analytical skills.

Demonstrated ability to work confidently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
