The anticipated salary range for this role is between $142,000.00 and $178,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Head of Jenius Bank FCC, the Governance Program Manager will be responsible for helping to lead the transformation and ongoing program administration of DBUs program.

PRINCIPAL DUTITES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Establish and maintain a robust program governance framework for financial crime compliance (FCC) initiatives within the digital bank;

  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices;

  • Manage the integration of system changes (e.g. KYC, Transaction Monitoring, Case Management, sanctions) in response to evolving regulatory requirements and the development of MBs digital bank, Jenius;

  • Experience in managing the implementation of various systems (Actimize, Fircosoft, Fenargo, etc.);

  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership on the status of FCC Program, highlighting achievements and addressing challenges;

  • Perform ongoing monitoring of evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices against internal control processes and systems for data gaps, discrepancies, or other compliance-related issues;

  • Implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of financial crimes prevention initiatives;

  • Partners on the enhancement of financial crimes compliance key performance metrics and reporting criteria and participate in business committees and other projects related to financial crimes compliance;

  • Provide ongoing financial crimes compliance program management support across MBs lines of business, SMBC, IAD, examiners and other key stakeholders.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial crimes compliance roles within a regulated financial institution, with a focus on program governance;

  • Experienced with best practices in financial services regulation, fraud detection methodologies, and emerging practices in financial crime and money laundering typologies unique to digital banking;

  • Proven track record of designing and implementing effective governance frameworks and controls;

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner to senior leaders;

  • Ability to develop, execute, and translate strategy into clear objectives.

  • Deep understanding of AML program requirements including, KYC, transaction monitoring, investigations and reporting, sanctions, risk assessment, and model management.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC regulatory requirements and ability to apply these concepts to day-to-day job functions.

  • Proven project management experience across financial crimes compliance program elements.

  • Language Skills: Business fluency in the following language(s): English
